Strengthening SettlementsUNH members, as other community based service providers, face the challenge of meeting complex needs with limited resources. This is especially true during periods of reduced public and private funding. To build the capacity of its members, UNH created the Strengthening Settlements Initiative. Working with their Executive Director and Board leadership, selected member agencies receive individual technical assistance to address critical management, finance and leadership issues and resources to help them carry out recommended improvements. This initiative helps these agencies meet UNH membership standards and continue to be resources for their communities.
